Fr. Trey's Welcome

Welcome from Our Pastor, Fr. Trey Nelson

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website for St. Jude the Apostle Parish.  We are a Catholic faith community located on Highland Road in Baton Rouge just 5 miles south of the LSU campus.  Our parish is rich in cultural diversity and broad in age.  We began in 1966 worshiping off-site at Magnolia Woods Elementary School.  Our current church was built in 1974 and completely renovated in 2013.  Throughout these years we have grown from a community of 600 families to almost 3,000 families!  Please take a moment to browse our site and see what makes this community so special.  As Saint Jude himself is traditionally held as the patron saint of hopeless causes, our parish strives to bring hope to our area through our many ministries, especially in our service to the poor.  The cypress trees located throughout our deck outside in front of our church, as well as the custom designed cypress altar in church, remind us of our deep roots of faith.  We invite you to visit and to worship with us at our Eucharistic table!  Truly, you will experience what it means to be a family of faith.
